Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

A lazy Sunday afternoon Thanking my nurse friends

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Well, the twins helped Grammy clean up the dishes, and have gone home with their mom. Jamie has to take pictures this afternoon, so Mike and I are hanging out at home. It is sooooo quiet now. I don't like it!! I have been working on my CEU's for retaining my nursing license during the past few weeks. I am having fun, most of them are cancer patient oriented, but I did go another direction a couple of times, like Bunions, RSV, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. There is one on Compassion Fatigue which I recognize some of those manifestations from a few years back. But, I loved what I did and did what I loved. No matter. God directed me, as when I was 18 years old, I certainly didn't know one thing about the field of nursing. I did like what my cousin Carol Conner looked like in her uniform. So crisp, and white, and neat, and pretty. I remember being at her house when she would come home. Always, she took her shoes off outside in the garage, so fewer germs would get in the house to her family. She is one of the reasons I became a nurse. God used her, because I do believe it was the career for me. I am grateful for all the nurses that influenced me in the last 46 years. Mrs. Grider, Jan Goodrick, Ann Stevens, Nancy Cunningham, Wandy Ellis, Marge Gore,Norma Taylor, Sharon Tuggle, Ruth White, Carolyn Hall, Becky Puzey, Enid White, Renee Estock, Joyce Witt, Judy Winkler,Annette Zielger, Suzie Larrance, Martha Jones, Kathy Miller (and her sister Karen),Mollie Nicholson, Penny Felix, Peg Laury,Carol Harden, my 1966 classmates, Dorothy Labayog, Rachel Shannon, Karen Mbanza, Susie Lefton, Shirley SloopWilkeyBurgen, Mrs. Nixon, Amy Heinrichs, Prast (truthfully I only know a couple nurses that are bad) , Judy Cravens, Betsy McQueen, Helen Johnson, Sandy Seyfert, Sharon Latoz, the girls at the Cancer Center now that I am gone (I know what you do and I love you for it), I could go on and on. But, there are 2 more names: Sandy Snyder, my younger daughter, who is currectly on maternity leave. I am SO proud of her; she has turned out to be a wonderful nurse, bright, and caring. Then there's my Jamie, who is a CT, MRI expert in X-ray. Jamie is about to undergo a big change in her life, stepping out on faith. I am very proud of both of my girls, for their careers are ones of caring and concern for others. And, they are very good at what they do. I take no credit. Neither does Mike. God ordained them too. To all of you, have a wonderful day.
