Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

My mother-in-law

Great is Thy faithfulness, Oh God my Father~ I am thankful for a godly mother-in-law. Mine passed away 35 years ago tomorrow after a short but terrible battle with bone cancer. She was a brave, non-complaining woman. Bruce, her husband, (my father-in-law) took her back and forth to Champaign for several days in a row for radiation. That was before we had anything like that in Danville. She took mild pain medicine (no one really knew how to cover cancer pain back then). I loved her very much. She welcomed me into the family without question. She had 7 children. Ann was the oldest (she passed in 1993), Mike, my husband was the next, two years younger, then 2 years again and here came Robin. Then Pat, then John, then Katy and then Kelly who was born when Mike was in Germany in the army. Ann was born in 1942 and Kelly in 1966. Big old spread, but Ann and Kelly were close. We all loved each other. And had a great time together. My father-in-law passed right after Katy got married. He died in California at his brother Bill's house. Sad days for us. But, we are the REESE FAMILY. And we are ONE>

onpThanks for sharing your blog on FB ...I didn't know you had one. Big families are great and I'm glad to be a part of one too! You always have someone who's "got your back." : )

Thanks, Susan. I am an only child, so I had much to learn about siblings and thinking of others first....but I hit the jackpot with this wonderful family I married in to. God is good.
