This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Our family had a cookout today, and then we went through my dear mother's personal stuff. Sandy read from one of her little notebooks that she kept. Mother wrote alot of things down to help her remember them. Now they are treasures. I found so many real wonderful things, like old obituaries of my great-great grandmother, who was, according to the writing, a devoted Christian lady. That is such a neat thing to know about ancestory. On Saturday, Mike and I took the twins down to Friends Chapel Cemetery near Chrisman, where my parents are now side by side. It was sorta hard to begin with, but after awhile, we got into the flow of planting flowers, and fixing the urn that sets in the middle of the stone. Mother's date of death is not etched in yet. That disappointed me, hoping it would be done before "Decoration Day", as my parents referred to it. I miss them both. And am so grateful for the heritage I was given by them. And memories that I have passed on to my girls and grandchildren. I have been truly blessed to be born to Leonard and Helen Conner in 1945, and to have been married to my sweet husband for all these years. God is good.
