Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

A Parade in Fairmount

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Yesterday was parade, carnival, and rummage day in our hometown of Fairmount. So, I piled the twins in the Civic and off we went. We met up with our friends the Carders and thanks to daughter-in-law Toni, the girls had bags to pick up the candy they throw at these events. Then we walked to the park and enjoyed food, drink, fellowship, and the kids played in that Jumper Thing that for sure would make me yukky, but they loved it. The girls like to spend time with Aleah, who is just a year older than they are. We watched Zac be in the parade, and the biggy is that if the 8th graders at Jamaica Jr. High made over $1000, Doug was to shave his head. I gave generously to that!!!! The girls had a wonderful time, it was nice to not worry about them playing while I was enjoying shade in the Pavilion. The 8th graders are going to D.C. if they collect enough money. What a great opportunity to learn. In our local paper now, every day there is a bio of another president. Today was Andrew Jackson. So we are saving them for the girls History lessons. They are learning about John Adams at this time. Also, in World History, they are in Napoleon. I love to learn, always have. I'm glad the girls enjoy it too. Anyway, thanks Fairmount for a time to see old friends (Ann and Don) and many others. It was a good day.
