Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

A Day to remember.........

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Today is Remember Preemies Day Nov. 17th. I didn't know there was a special day for these little ones til I saw on my daughters' blogs. I have precious memories of those times before they were born (way too early) and after. Of travelling from Danville to Champaign to Peoria to Champaign to Danville, etc. I was working then, and the staff I worked along side were wonderful to me. They let me go when I needed to be somewhere with family; and many times I left work at 4:30 to travel to Peoria or Champaign to see one of my granddaughters. On day 4, Paige was transfered to Peoria for possible surgery. The Docs thought her esophagus was not attached to her throat, but thanks to a very wise specialist, he saw that it had only been punctured, and needed time to heal. No surgery. Yeah!! Peyton was still in Champaign. It would be several weeks before they would be together again. Lots of other not so pleasant stuff, monitors, caffeine to remind to breathe, transfusions, ugh..... but, we have two of the most beautiful and bright 9 and 1/2 year old granddaughters that ever walked this earth. They are loving, caring, praying youngsters, who can read, write, think, draw, spin around, skate, swim, play piano, you name it. I know they are miracles. All babies are. I'm about to have another granddaughter; she is a miracle too, although FULL TERM!! I am choked up, just thinking about them. How blessed can one woman be.

I remember well those trying and scary days for you. I also remember out trip to Covenant to see them. They were precious little miracles and so very tiny. God is indeed good and gracious. He blessed your family with these girls and will continue to do so with the new arrival.

Thanks Rae, We visited the children and then had supper together. I remember it well. Cracker Barrel, if I recall. You had your little grandson on Leap Day, right? Almost 10 years since all that took place.
