Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

A visit from Grandma Joyce

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. This week James' grandmother Joyce from Springfield is visiting. She is delightful. We all love her; she is a wonderful cook, and has tons of energy. Sandy and I agree that James takes after her in that department!! I served lunch today after church and we looked at dishes that Jamie and Sandy are going to divide up of mine and my beloved mother. Some of my grandmothers (a few dishes, not a set). Mother had two lovely vases that I passed down to them. They are really heavy and would be beautiful with live flowers in them. I remember a day when I would love to have live flowers in my house all the time, on my dining room table. I thought that would be living!!! I've kinda changed my mind about things lately. Things are not so important to me as they once were. My faith, family, and friends: now they ARE important. Grandma Joyce is a good reminder of how important people are in ones life. Thanks Joyce.
