Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

First swim meet of 2009

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. The girls had their very first swim meet last night at Turtle Run. The team won against Watseka, so that meant they got to throw the coach in the water!!! (Glad I'm not a coach) The weather was perfect as it had been warm all day so the water stayed nice for the meet. Sometimes in the morning meets, the kids freeze until their little bodies adjust. The girls are much stronger than last year; their strokes are more precise, and their breathing is much better. Aunt Jamie took some pictures. I'm sure she will post them sometime soon. Yesterday and today they take home school testings from 9-1 at the church. My little girls are growing up. They have sooooo much fun with their cousins, Lauren and Brookelynn. They are on the swim team also. Lauren has gone up a grade. The girls are in the 9-10 bracket and Brooke is in the 8 and under. My former boss's kids are on the team too, as well as the Wells kids. It is fun to rah rah rah for all of the children I know, and some I don't know. Sandy is feeling better (well, sorta??) finally gained 1 pound (of the bunch she lost) and loves to see the girls in swim competition. I wish this would have been available for her when she was this age. Both my girls are strong swimmers. They would have really shined in swim meets. Me, not so much. (since I am scared to death of water, thanks to my dear mother). I am praying for my nephew-in-law, Jerry who is having a kidney bx tomorrow in Indy. And preparing to go to Canada soon to spend time with our friends. Blessings to all. F.
