Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

The Loss of a dear Friend

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it This morning I received a phone call from my friend Becky's husband Russell. She had passed away during the night. Becky had suffered many years with pancreatic cancer. I was still at the hospital working when the diagnosis came. She and I went down to X-ray and looked at the films with one of our radiologists, Dr. Dev, and he showed us the area of great concern. From then on, it was a whirlwind of what to do, where to go, and prayer meetings each day at 11 am in the chapel. She wanted to see her chldren raised. She wanted to have time with Russ; she loved her job and was REALLY good at it. I used to do her NG tubes and she did my IVs. We had a deal.......Becky was born in June 1960, I am 15 years older than her, but we were fast friends at work. I know of her faith. And, she had Christians all around her, loving her, caring for her, and praying for her daily. Now, she is up there with my friend Sue, and her parents. Mrs. Young died when Becky was still in high school. They are all safe in the precious arms of Jesus. She died on Palm Sunday; a day of celebration and adoration of our Savior. I will miss her.
