Welcome to my blog!!

I have so enjoyed FB and blogging. I love reading others, friends, and younger people who are so good with words. It is my prayer that I be a servant to others. To lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is of chief importance to me. My work at the Cancer Center gave me many opportunities to do just that; the center was part of a Catholic institution that had ...."in the Spirit of Jesus Christ"..... in the Mission Statement. God gave me a boldness like never before. I also love journal keeping. I have several. The one I am currently using will run out before Dec. 31. I love it; it has a photo of the four grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Reese, and Sully on it. Plus a Christmas greeting on the inside page. I keep sermon notes and daily stuff on those pages. Mike said, "Do you ever go back and read what you write?" Answer YES. Regularly.

Reading about Blue Genes by Meier

This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.Jamie has this great book by a preacher/doctor (my favorite kind). When she leaves for work, I pick it up and read it while watching after Mother. Dr. Meier has some inovative scientific/biblical ideas about treatment of various emotional issues; i.e. depression, ADHD, Bi-polar, social phobias. There are clinics all over America, and he writes about cases that the clinic have treated with great success, changing lives and changing hearts towards Christ. It is one of those books it is hard to b put down, yet I'm sure I'll have to re-read it, maybe several times, to get all out of it that I can. For one thing, it causes one to look into one's own family tree to ask if there were any problems that might be showing up in another generation. It also says that many pastors are against meds, that they counsel their parish not to take meds, to let God heal them. He says God gave these meds to the scientists to help people. If we were diabetic, we would certainly take our insulin' so if we have emotional difficulties, we should certainly take meds that will help us. Will tell you more when I finish the book, for the first time. Have a good day. F>
